Your journey begins with two nights at the iconic Grand Hotel Zell am See, beautifully set beside the lake. From here, scenic rides lead you through the Salzburger Land, where flower-filled fields, quiet villages, and dramatic alpine views may have you feeling as though the hills really are alive. Highlights include visits to the picturesque village of Maria Alm, the stunning Golling Waterfall, and the medieval Hohenwerfen Castle, perched high above the Salzach Valley.

As the adventure continues, you'll follow dedicated bike paths and quiet country roads alongside the Salz River toward Salzburg, one of Europe's most beautiful and culturally rich cities. Arrival day and relaxed bike ride around the lake

Welcome to Austria! After meeting your guides in Munich, enjoy a scenic transfer through the Bavarian and Austrian Alps to the lakeside town of Zell am See. Following a trip briefing, bike fitting, and lunch, set out on a relaxed introductory ride along the shores of sparkling Lake Zell, soaking up spectacular mountain views. Those looking for a little extra adventure can visit the nearby Sigmund Thun Gorge before gathering for a welcome aperitif and dinner at the historic Grand Hotel.

After breakfast, transfer to the charming village of Bramberg to begin today's ride through the heart of the Salzburger Land. Pedal along quiet bike paths and country roads, passing traditional alpine villages, lush meadows, and spectacular mountain scenery as you make your way back to Zell am See. Along the route, enjoy time to explore at your own pace, with the option to experience the exhilarating Alpine Coaster in Kaprun before returning to the Grand Hotel for a relaxing evening.

Alpine villages and lakeside cycling through the Salzburger Land

Today's ride showcases some of the most picturesque scenery in the Salzburger Land. Departing directly from the hotel, cycle through the charming villages of Maishofen and Saalfelden before continuing to the postcard-perfect town of Maria Alm, where you'll have time to visit its famous pilgrimage church.

After lunch, continue riding through rolling farmland beneath dramatic alpine peaks as you loop back to Zell am See for a final evening on the shores of Lake Zell.

With the towering peaks of the Alps as your backdrop, you'll make your way to the charming town of Werfenweng, a stone's throw to one of Austria's most impressive medieval fortresses.

Begin the day with a visit to spectacular Hohenwerfen Castle, dramatically perched high above the Salzach Valley. After exploring this medieval fortress, continue your journey by bike toward Salzburg, following scenic riverside paths through picturesque villages and rolling countryside. Along the way, stop to admire beautiful Golling Waterfall and visit Hellbrunn Palace, known for its enchanting gardens, playful trick fountains, and the famous gazebo from The Sound of Music.

Continue north to the elegant city of Salzburg, where you’ll settle into your hotel and enjoy a free evening to explore on your own.

After a guided tour of Salzburg's UNESCO-listed Old Town, set out by bike to explore the picturesque countryside surrounding Mozart's birthplace. Follow dedicated riverside paths along the Salzach River to the historic town of Laufen on the German border, enjoying idyllic landscapes and charming villages along the way.

Returning to Salzburg, spend some time wandering around some of its famous gardens and imposing castles before gathering for a farewell aperitif and celebratory final dinner.

A group transfer will take you to Munich or Munich Airport, where you can continue your travels or begin your journey home, taking with you lasting memories of Austria's spectacular alpine scenery, charming villages, and scenic cycling routes.

On the first day of the tour, please meet at Hotel Excelsior, Munich at 8:30am. You are welcome to book your pre-tour stay at any hotel in Munich, though you must make your own way to the pick-up point at the pre-designated time. 

Your tour ends with a drop-off at either Hotel Excdelsior at 11:00am, or Munich Airport at 11:30am.

Arrival: We recommend arriving in Munich the day before the tour starts. Many guests like to arrive a day or two early to accommodate potential flight delays and/or explore the city prior to your tour start.

Departure: Departing on the last day of the tour, we recommend departing from Munich after 2:30pm. Earlier departure times will require a separate transfer booked at your own expense.
