FREE USE OF BIKES

We are happy to provide you with a hybrid or gravel bike to use at no charge. In the U.S. we are mainly offering gravel bikes (drop handlebars) instead of road bikes. Our bikes come equipped with a front handlebar bag or rear carrier, water bottle, mirror and flat pedals. Pedal cages and soft gel seat covers are available on request. We are also happy to put your own clipless pedals (pedals that attach to your biking shoes) and seat on your bike if you wish. Specific details and styles of bikes available in each location are indicated under each photograph below. The brand of bikes provided varies by location, and on some of our international tours, certain styles and accessories are not available.

For our standard U.S. tours, we now offer a limited number of e-bikes (usually up to 8) on most departures on a first-come, first-served basis at no extra charge. After that number is reserved, a charge of $60 per day per e-bike will be added. (So for a 6-day tour, that would be $360, or for a 3-day tour it would be $180). Please contact the office for details.

EXCEPTIONS: For our E-bike New Zealand tours, mountain bikes or e-bikes are offered at no extra charge. For our Chile tours, e-bikes are available for $500 per person ... or upgraded road bikes may also be available for a fee. E-bikes are not available on part of our Vietnam Adventure tour. On our Adventure Tours, you are generally asked to rent or bring your own bike (usually a gravel, mountain or cross-bike).

DROP HANDLEBARS
Gravel bikes are available on our tours in North America and may be available for our tours in Europe. They have drop handlebars like a road bike but with a wider tire, so they are a good choice for crushed gravel routes.
