Ride the legendary Camino de Santiago by bike on a supportive 11-day tour in Spain. Scenic routes, great lodging, and time to explore each day.

For many cyclists, the Camino de Santiago is a lifelong dream. For more than a thousand years, pilgrims have made their way across northern Spain on foot, following this ancient route to the resting place of the Apostle St. James. On this tour, you experience the Camino in a way that feels both meaningful and wonderfully freeing, traveling by bike at your own pace.

You begin near the French border, pedaling through the Pyrenees before rolling into Navarre’s welcoming wine country. Each day brings a new landscape. Vineyards stretch toward the horizon in Rioja, the wide-open meseta glows with golden fields, and quiet stone churches appear just when you least expect them. As you reach Galicia, the scenery softens into green hills and ancient forests where the Camino feels unchanged by time.

Along the way, you ride into towns that have welcomed pilgrims for centuries. Wander the narrow streets of Pamplona, pause beneath the soaring Gothic cathedral in Burgos, and explore León, where Roman walls still trace the city’s past. There is time to soak it all in, to linger over a café stop, and to share stories with fellow travelers who feel more like friends each day.

Your journey ends in Santiago de Compostela, where the spires of the great cathedral rise ahead as they have for generations of pilgrims. Arriving here by bike is deeply moving, a moment of quiet pride and shared celebration. It is a finish that stays with you long after the ride is over, and a reminder of how powerful it feels to discover the world by bike.

From start to finish, check out the route.

We'll meet and transfer you to the starting village of Roncesvalles where we have a bike fitting and safety talk, before walking to get our “Compostela” (Pilgrim’s Passport). The terrain is “rolling” as we enter the Navarra region and pedal through conifer forest, green fields, and little villages like Burguette and Espinal before arriving in Pamplona. Pamplona has always been an important stop on the pilgrimage and you will want to visit the Cathedral, the Museo Discesano and deNavarra and just wander the fascinating streets of this medieval town. Pamplona is, of course, well known for its July 7th San Fermin Festival where the “running of the bulls” was made so famous in Ernest Hemingway’s The Sun Also Rises.Dinner and overnight is in Pamplona.

Start today with a ride to Las Herrerias. Once in Las Herrerias, you have 3 options: 1) Get a ride in the van to the top of a climb. 2) Following the Camino route. It’s steep following el Camino — but the energetic may opt to ride the 8.5-mile uphill section 3) Take a longer route that’s easier. Once there, you visit the Pilgrim’s Monument. From here, enjoy a delightful downhill to the Samos Monastery, a handsome 6th-century Benedictine church. Our ride then takes us through the beautiful Galician countryside guided on our route by the “mojones,” little roadside cairns or pillars that will mark our entire way from here all the way to Santiago.
