CANCELLATION POLICY Effective Sept. 1, 2021 – 

We hope you’re excited to plan your bike vacation. Our small-group outdoor experiences are especially appealing in these unusual times.

Our cancellation policy has been updated to make deposits refundable until the Final Payment Date. After that time, your payments are no longer refundable. Please see the details below. As a small, family-owned tour business, we appreciate your support of our company and our partners in the travel industry by reserving a tour with us.

A. For new North America (U.S. and Canada) tour reservations from Sept. 1, 2021, forward:

1) At the time of deposit: After making a deposit, you can cancel up to 60 days before the tour departure date without any penalty. After that, your deposit becomes nonrefundable. You may also choose to transfer your deposit to another available tour, up until 60 days before the tour starts.

2) At 60 days before: Final payments are due 60 days before Day 1 of the tour. At 60 days, all payments are no longer refundable or transferable.

3) Postponed tours: If conditions prevent a tour from running as planned due to circumstances beyond Discovery’s control, Discovery may cancel or postpone the tour to a later date. In the event this occurs, Discovery will endeavor to provide as much notice as practicable under the circumstances. If this occurs within 60 days of the departure due to force majeure, health restrictions, natural disasters or other concerns, we will make every effort to recover expenses and hotel deposits and refund a portion to you, but we may not be able to make a full refund.

In light of recent events, we reserve the right to change our policy in the face of force majeure or conditions beyond Discovery’s control that impact the ability to run any tour.

B. For most tours in Europe & New Zealand:

1) At the time of deposit: After making a deposit, you can cancel up to 90 days before the tour departure date without any penalty. After that, your deposit becomes nonrefundable. You may also choose to transfer your deposit to another available tour, up until 90 days before the tour starts.

2) At 90 days before: Final payments are due 90 days before Day 1 of the tour.

3) Between 89 and 60 days before: At 89 days before Day 1 of the tour, payments are no longer refundable. But 50% of your payments can be transferred as a credit to an available future tour within 18 months. 

4) Share your credits: Credits held can be transferred to a friend or family member upon written request and independent confirmation by Discovery.

5) At 59 days before: At 59 days before the tour start date, all payments are no longer refundable or transferable.

6) Postponed tours: If conditions prevent a tour from running as planned due to circumstances beyond Discovery’s control, Discovery may cancel or postpone the tour to a later date. In the event this occurs, Discovery will endeavor to provide as much notice as practicable under the circumstances. If this occurs within 90 days of the departure due to force majeure, health restrictions, natural disasters or other concerns, we will work with our partners and make every effort to recover expenses and refund a portion to you, but we cannot guarantee a full refund.

C. For tours in Florida Keys, Chile and Bike & Barge:

1) At the time of deposit: After making a deposit, you can cancel up to 120 days before the tour departure date without any penalty. After that, your deposit becomes nonrefundable. You may also choose to transfer your deposit to another available tour, up until 120 days before the tour starts.

2) At 120 days before: Final payments are due 120 days before Day 1 of the tour.

3) Between 119 and 60 days before: At 119 days before Day 1 of the tour, 50% of payments are transferable as a credit toward a future available tour within 18 months. 

4) Share your credits: Credits held can be transferred to a friend or family member upon written request and independent confirmation by Discovery.

5) At 59 days before: At 59 days before the tour start date, all payments are no longer refundable or transferable.

6) Postponed tours: If conditions prevent a tour from running as planned due to circumstances beyond Discovery’s control, Discovery may cancel or postpone the tour to a later date. In the event this occurs, Discovery will endeavor to provide as much notice as practicable under the circumstances. D. Vietnam tours, for reservations made after Sept. 1, 2021:

1) At the time of deposit: After making a deposit, you can cancel up to 150 days before the tour departure date without any penalty. After that, your deposit becomes nonrefundable. You may also choose to transfer your deposit to another available tour, up until 150 days before the tour starts.

2) At 150 days before: Final payments are due 150 days before Day 1 of the tour.

3) Between 149 and 90 days before: At 149 days before Day 1 of the tour, payments are no longer refundable. But 50% of your payments can be transferred as a credit to an available future tour within 18 months. 

4) Share your credits: Credits held can be transferred to a friend or family member upon written request and independent confirmation by Discovery.

5) At 89 days before: Payments are no longer refundable or transferable.

E. Please purchase Travel Insurance:

You can compare the policies and prices of most major providers at www.insuremytrip.com. There are several reliable companies to choose from. **Before you purchase a policy, however, be sure to check with your credit card company to see if they offer free travel insurance. Canadian citizens can purchase travel insurance with www.travelguard.ca (866-648-8422) and other vendors.

F. Reservations made before Sept. 1, 2021:

Your payments are subject to the cancellation policy in effect at the time you made your reservation. Please check your invoice for details.
