On The River Inn Weekend Vermont Bike Tour – August 25-27, 2017

This tour features two nights at the luxurious new On the River Inn, where every room has a private balcony overlooking the river, and where you enjoy country elegant decor, welcoming hosts and delightful seasonally-inspired dining. The biking is also a delight. Saturday takes us along the river’s edge into Quechee where we can shop for crafts, pottery and exquisite glassware at Simon Pearce, and ride up to the spectacular Quechee Gorge. Our return takes us past the Taftsville Covered Bridge into Woodstock, often described as the prettiest village in America and renowned for its Colonial-era architecture, beautiful village green, many enticing shops and galleries, and the fascinating Billings Farm and Museum. On Sunday, we ride north through beautiful farming country to Barnard, where you can sit on the porch of the quaint Barnard General Store while enjoying a view over Silver Lake. The return ride takes us down Stage Road, passing historic Suicide Six Ski Area and the Teago General Store before cycling back to our inn.

*Single Travelers: A limited number of guaranteed private rooms are available on most tours at an additional cost. This cost is indicated on each tour page.

Single travelers willing to share a room will be charged an amount no greater than 50% of the guaranteed private room rate and this will be fully refunded if you end up sharing a room with another traveler. This cost is also indicated on each tour page.

The reason for these additional charges is that most of our inns charge Discovery Bicycle Tours by the room regardless of the number of occupants, but our per person tour rates are based on double occupancy. Therefore it costs Discovery Bicycle Tours substantially more to have only one occupant in a room. We do want to encourage single travelers and therefore absorb half of the additional cost to us when you end up in a private room without requesting it. You will note that on some tours there is no additional charge and this is because the inns on those tours are not charging Discovery Bicycle Tours.
