The beautiful Barrows House Inn in Dorset is home to our newest weekend tour. This prestigious inn has wonderful accommodations, an excellent dining room, and six acres of lovely gardens and expansive lawns. It is also just a short walk from the center of historic Dorset, long a fashionable summer haven for artists and writers and considered one of the most picturesque villages in New England. Our superb biking includes riding along lovely streams, through the rolling farm country of the Mettawee Valley, visits to several small villages, a ride out to lovely Lake St. Catherine, and a stop for a swim at the “secret” spring-fed former marble quarry. We also wind our way through the back roads of South Dorset into the elegant town of Manchester where we pass mansions fronted by miles of marble sidewalks and white picket fences, pass by classic churches and a gold-domed courthouse, and are treated to wonderful views of towering Mount Equinox as we ride scenic country roads back to the inn. More energy? Both days feature great extra biking options, and if interested, there is plenty of off-bike browsing to be done, including at the world-famous Orvis Fly Fishing Company, or at some of Manchester’s sophisticated outlets.
Barrows House Inn Weekend Vermont Bike Tour – September 14-16, 2018

Final payment due 60 days prior to your tour (personal check, Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover)
*Single Travelers: A limited number of guaranteed private rooms are available on most tours at an additional cost. This cost is indicated on each tour page.
Single travelers willing to share a room will be charged an amount no greater than 50% of the guaranteed private room rate and this will be fully refunded if you end up sharing a room with another traveler. This cost is also indicated on each tour page.
The reason for these additional charges is that most of our inns charge Discovery Bicycle Tours by the room regardless of the number of occupants, but our per person tour rates are based on double occupancy. Therefore it costs Discovery Bicycle Tours substantially more to have only one occupant in a room. We do want to encourage single travelers and therefore absorb half of the additional cost to us when you end up in a private room without requesting it. You will note that on some tours there is no additional charge and this is because the inns on those tours are not charging Discovery Bicycle Tours.
