Trip Cancellation Insurance
We cannot over-emphasize the importance of Travel Insurance. This covers your expenses if you need to cancel or interrupt your vacation due to a number of circumstances beyond your control, including (most importantly) a health related problem affecting you or a traveling, or non-traveling, member of your family. As you know, most airline fares are nonrefundable, and Discovery Bicycle Tours is likewise unable to refund your money if you cancel less than 60 days of the tour regardless of the compelling nature of your emergency.
We recommend CSA Insurance based on their rating by Consumer Reports and their fair prices. Currently, the cost for individuals under age 55 ranges from $35. to $45. per $1000. in basic coverage. You can enroll on line at www.csatravelprotection.com, call CSA at 1-800-348-9505.
(NOTE: To take advantage of the insurance company’s “Pre-existing Condition Waiver” you need to sign up within 7 days of our processing your deposit.)
Cancellations
Vermont Cancellation Policy
If you cancel your Vermont tour at least 61 days prior to your tour, we will return 100% of your deposit and any other tour payments. If your cancellation is received less than 61 days, but more than 30 days, from the starting date of your tour, we will retain your deposit but refund any other tour payments made. If you cancel 30 days or less from the date of your tour we will retain all your tour payments (including deposit). Should Discovery Bicycle Tours have to cancel your tour we will refund all your tour payments immediately as full settlement. We urge you to please obtain Travel and Trip Cancellation Insurance (see below) to cover any loss you might incur.
Ireland, Scotland, Italy, Maryland and Coast of Maine, and Cape Cod/Martha's Vineyard Cancellation Policy
If you cancel at least 61 days prior to your tour, we will return 100% of your deposit and any other tour payments. If your cancellation is received less than 60 days from the starting date of your tour, we will retain all of your tour payments (including your deposit). Should Discovery Bicycle Tours have to cancel your tour we will refund all your tour payments immediately as full settlement. We urge you to please obtain Travel and Trip Cancellation Insurance (see below) to cover any loss you might incur.
